Sizes Guide

In French, oxford shoes are called « Richelieu ».

The exact origin of the name is a mystery. It is said that the nephew of the famous French Cardinal with the same name, was renown among the society for having the finest fashion sense. Maybe the reason for this reputation was his elegant shoes. It is also said oxford shoes come from Scotland and later the Oxford University gave its name, but nothing is proved yet. Anyway, this style is seen nowadays as one of the most elegant amongst shoes for men.

Crespin offers you a round-toed version of this standard. Fully made in France in the finest tradition, the full grain calf leather used for the shoe upper comes from “les tanneries du Puy”, a guarantee these shoes will last for years (if well maintained).

This model, with its handmade patina, is a must-have in any gentleman's wardrobe. The blake welted construction we use adds fineness to the conservative look of these shoes.

Be careful not to denatur the patina while caring for your shoes. Do not hesitate to check our care guide.
