Materials used

The Benjamin black Oxford shoes were created by the Crespin team to stand the test of time. This is why full-grain calf leather was used for the uppers, leather from Puy tanneries recognized the world over for the quality of their skins. The selected calf leather is incredibly soft, giving a shoe that not only fits comfortably from the first wear but will last for several years. A not unimportant feature of this leather is its flexibility and ease of fit even after many wears.
Because at Crespin, importance is in the detail, we take a particular interest in the invisible parts of the shoe that are not immediately obvious but can make all the difference. For example, we even use full-grain calf leather from the Puy tanneries for the entire lining, further increasing the comfort of these Crespin Oxford shoes.

Manufacture techniques

Like all Crespin footwear, this pair of black Oxford shoes is made entirely by hand in the Cholet region of France. We combine the traditional know-how of our craftsmen with exceptional materials to produce an elegant shoe guaranteed to last you for many years.
This Oxford design is sewn with a Blake welt giving an incredible elegance to the silhouette and total comfort from the first wear. Just wait and see, your feet will thank you!

How to wear this pair of shoes

These black Oxford shoes are a style classic of the male wardrobe. If you only own one pair of black shoes, it should be this one with its slender, round outline that's versatile enough to suit any body type. The Oxford is a formal shoe par excellence that should ideally be worn with a suit. Preferably, this should be in black or grey, two shades that work well with black shoes. At Crespin, however, we are not against some style transgressions and think it is quite acceptable to also wear these Oxford shoes with black or grey jeans.

Maintenance and care

It is very important to care for your shoes properly but this is not as time-consuming as you think. As well as storing them on the beechwood tree that comes with your Crespin shoes the occasional simple application of cream is enough. If you want to add a shine to the black leather then you will need to apply some good quality black shoe polish, but don't forget to remove this after wearing so the leather can breathe.
